Full Garden Consultation with Action Plan Guide

An NBN professional horticulturist will walk you through options for a new garden or reworking an existing one. You will receive an action plan guide with everything needed to get you started. After booking, we will contact you to schedule a day and time that works for you. Cost is $375.

  • 1 hour site visit at your garden (or virtual)
  • Concepts plan with diagram
  • Foundational plant list for your garden with photos and design guidelines
  • Notes on how to prep and plant, ways to simplify your existing garden, how to add more beauty and function to your garden —all the important points covered during the site visit.
  • Garden Start-up Guide

This package gives you an actionable plan for how to accomplish your garden goals and offers a road map of how to prep your space to be ready for the next step, planting!

Planting Service

Once you have a space prepped and ready for plants, you can roll right into our Planting Service. Here's how it works:
  • You get your garden space ready —you can DIY or consider our Garden Together/Garden Stewardship. 
  • We come out and plant your space with a mix of foundational native plant species, working alongside YOU to teach the basics of what we’re planting, how we choose what goes where, and how to care for your new garden.
  • We generally plant with 12-15" spacing depending on the species and charge $7/SF (plants and labor included). Plants are chosen from a select group that work well for your site conditions. 
  • Need an estimate for your space? Measure the total square footage (SF) of your prepped area and multiply by $7/SF.

This type of planting is meant to get you started, hold the space and to allow for enhancement plantings as desired each season. Choosing the right plants is an important first step in creating a garden brimming with beauty and function —let us do the work for you!

Garden Together/Garden Stewardship

The Garden Together hourly session can be used for on-site or virtual visits to garden along side you, to work through some garden planning, or to an answer questions. Want to learn from the experts? We love to partner with Chicago-area gardeners to teach sustainable gardening methods, design strategies and to share new ways to see and interact with our environment. Learn to garden in your garden. This is an hourly rate and great for those who:
  • Need a one-on-one garden check up
  • Want some instruction on weeding/editing their garden
  • Need help selecting and sourcing plants
  • Want to build a condo association garden community
  • Hope to start a school pollinator garden
  • Are interested in seeing their garden and landscape in a new way
Sessions can be monthly, weekly or bi-weekly and focus on the basics of native gardens and gardening for environment. After booking, we will contact you to schedule a day and time that works for you. Cost is $100/hr.

Garden Stewardship can include site preparation, garden editing, seasonal tidy-ups and anything else needed to keep your garden fully functioning ecologically and aesthetically. Garden Stewardship is DFY and taken on a case-by-case basis depending on the scale of your project and our availability. Cost is $100/hr.

Community Garden Design, Implementation and Education

We believe in transforming our environment into a home for many bees, butterflies and birds...and also into a place for kids (and adults) to explore and learn. Planning a community garden project and not sure where to start? Hoping to build a stewardship group to help care for your project, or to develop programming for your new outdoor classroom? We can partner with your group to tailor a design that offers all of this and more!
